A Senior Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineer is required to join the geotechnical engineering division operating from the company’s Cambridge office, to work on a range of site investigation projects across East Anglia, the south of England and further afield.
Candidates as a minimum should have a degree in a relevant subject, at least five years’ demonstrable experience in geotechnical site investigation and contaminated land assessments, supervising engineers and field technicians, a full UK driving license, excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and a keen interest in learning new skills.
The role will involve a mixture of site and office based work, predominantly based around the specification, operation, management and interpretation of geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations. The Norwich and Cambridge geotechnical departments are led by a principal engineer, with senior engineers each responsible for helping and supervising a small team of engineers/graduates/assistants in their work.
Knowledge and experience should include soil mechanics, confidence in providing foundation recommendations, soil/groundwater/ground gas risk assessments, supervising/undertaking trial pits, boreholes and other field techniques, and experience as a line manager.
