A Graduate Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineer is required to join the geotechnical engineering division operating from the company’s Cambridge office, to work on a range of site investigation projects across East Anglia, the south of England and further afield.

 

Candidates as a minimum should have a degree in a relevant subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering with modules in Soil Mechanics or Environmental Science with Geology and Maths modules), a full UK driving license, excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and a keen interest in learning new skills. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

 

The role will involve a mixture of site and office-based work, predominantly based around the specification, operation, management and interpretation of geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigation. Graduate Engineers will be trained to undertake desk-based research of geological, hydrogeological, historical, topographical and environmental site information. In addition, field training will be proved in tasks including machine dug trial pit excavations, supervising borehole drilling, undertaking infiltration testing, ground gas monitoring, groundwater and soil sampling. You will also learn how to interpret field and laboratory data and develop and provide clear advice on ground conditions, foundation option, soil infiltration, and land contamination.
