We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for an internship in our geotechnical department in Norwich.

Candidates would be based in our Norwich office for up to one year (the commencement and duration can be flexible to suit your needs), to work on a range of site investigation projects across East Anglia and further afield. The role would be supervised by experienced engineers and include full training in all aspects you may be involved in.

The type of work would generally be a combination of geotechnical investigation and contaminated land assessment. In previous years students have enjoyed involvement in a mixture of site and office based work, including field tasks such as machine trial pit excavations, borehole drilling, infiltration testing, ground gas monitoring, groundwater sampling and undertaking research for geological, hydrogeological, historical and topographical site information. You will also learn how engineers provide advice on ground conditions, foundation recommendations, soil infiltration, undertaking phase one and two contamination assessments and validating remediation projects.

To be considered for the role of assistant geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineer candidates should be part way through an undergraduate or graduate degree (e.g. Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related degree), have a full UK driving licence, excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and a keen interest in learning new skills.
