POSITION: GEOTECHNICAL SITE TECHNICIAN / LEAD DRILLER

LOCATION: Norwich

Geotechnical Site Technician/Lead Driller is required to join the testing services department in Norwich, to work on a range of site investigation projects across East Anglia and further afield. Candidates as a minimum should have numeracy and literacy to GCSE level C or equivalent, experience as a Lead Driller operating a dynamic continuous sampling/window sampling rig and at least two years of site investigation experience. The duties and responsibilities cover:
SITE WORK: Working on site collecting samples and testing ground conditions to allow our engineers to compile reports for clients. Involved with sample handling storage and disposal, specialist ground drilling, breaking out ground and digging hand dug excavations and undertaking in-situ testing, including:

  • Window Sampling
  • Dynamic Probing
  • Plate Bearing Tests
  • California Bearing Ratio tests (CBRs)
  • Sand Replacement Tests
  • Density Tests
  • TRL Probe testing
  • Shear Vane Tests

LOCATION: London

START DATE: When suitable candidate found.

A Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer is required to join the geotechnical department in London, to work on a range of site investigation projects across London and the southeast. Candidates as a minimum should have a bachelors degree in a relevant subject, at least two years of site investigation experience and a full UK driving licence. The role will involve a mixture of site and office based work, predominantly based around the control and management of geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations. The ideal candidate should have experience in project management, supervising and undertaking a range of fieldwork methods, site supervision, giving foundation recommendations, advice on ground conditions, soil infiltration, undertaking phase one and two contamination assessments.
